What CCA do I need for a Toyota HiLux diesel?

Most standard diesel HiLux replacement batteries are rated between 650 and 750 CCA. More is better as batteries age. The SC-NA1280's peak output of around 900A gives substantial headroom for cold morning diesel starts.

Can I put a sodium ion battery straight into my HiLux?

Yes, sodium ion starter batteries are designed as direct lead acid replacements using your existing leads and tray. Confirm dimensions and terminal orientation first. No special charger is required for standard alternator charging.

How long does a HiLux battery last in Australia?

Lead acid typically lasts 2 to 4 years, and often less in hot regions or with heavy accessory loads. Sodium ion batteries are rated for 3,000 plus cycles, which translates to many times that service life in normal use.

Will a sodium ion battery handle outback heat?

Yes. Salty Cells batteries are discharge rated from minus 30°C to 70°C, which covers under bonnet conditions in the hottest parts of Australia. Heat is precisely where lead acid fails fastest.

What about my dual battery fridge setup?

The Salty Cells range are starting batteries, but with 3,000 plus cycles at 60% depth of discharge they tolerate auxiliary style cycling far better than a starting lead acid battery ever could. For dedicated deep cycle auxiliary use, talk to us about your setup first.
