What size battery does a Mitsubishi Triton take?

It varies by generation and engine. Diesel models commonly use a large case battery around the N70 or 95D31 class with roughly 650 to 750 CCA. Check the battery currently fitted to your vehicle and match case size, terminal layout and CCA, or contact SaltyCells and we will help you confirm.

Can I put a sodium ion battery in my Triton myself?

Yes. SaltyCells batteries are drop in replacements that connect exactly like a lead acid battery. If you can use a spanner you can swap it in about 15 minutes.

Will a sodium ion battery work with my Triton's alternator?

Sodium ion starter batteries are designed to charge from a standard 12V vehicle charging system. Our batteries operate at a nominal 12.4V with a built in battery management system that regulates charging. If your Triton has a smart alternator or idle stop, get in touch first and we will confirm compatibility for your setup.

Is sodium ion safe in the engine bay heat?

Yes. SaltyCells batteries are rated for discharge at up to 70 degrees Celsius and do not use the flammable electrolytes found in some lithium chemistries. Thermal stability is one of sodium ion's biggest advantages.

How long will a sodium ion battery last in a Triton?

The cells are rated for at least 3,000 cycles at 60 percent depth of discharge, which is 6 to 10 times the cycle life of lead acid. In practical terms the battery is designed to outlast several lead acid replacements, backed by a 5 year warranty.
